This one I wrote a while ago for a dear dear friend, trying to lift her spirits, trying to give her something to hold onto. I think it actually managed to do just that, for which I am truly happy.

I am the pincushion
when you need to jab
I am the beanbag
that you should hit

Only to prevent
you the pain
and the turmoil
that you just wont admit

I am not bound by blood
but you are my little sister
I am not close enough
but I want to shield you from this pain

Just remember
there are people out there
that will weather the storm
who embrace your rain

Do not forget
remember these words well
when on lonely nights
in darkness you dwell.
